We hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying this spectacular summer we are having here in the UK. For a construction company like Henry and Eds we like to take advantage of the good weather when we get it. Summer for a London building company means undertaking full external renovations; this is the time of the year to get the best results for your property with the dry weather aiding in attaining the highest of quality finishes.
Here in this summer newsletter we proudly present our latest work in the very heart of West London’s Chelsea. During the last six weeks we have carried out a complete restoration of the front, rear and roofs of two buildings in Kensington’s most desirable postcode. With careful planning and organisation, the WLP team, managed by Henry, have delivered a stunning finish on two properties in desperate need of a makeover.
The timing of the two projects was diligently managed to tackle both properties at once. At the rear of one of the buildings was a full side return extension which made erecting scaffolding very difficult; we opted to use Henry’s rope access skills to work from fixed ropes and abseiled down the back of the building to each window and painstakingly repaired and repainted them.
One of the buildings had not had any major works carried out on it for nearly 40 years. In order to save as much of the exterior of the property as possible a full survey of the fabric of the wood work and masonry was required. With patience, planning, restoration and a lot of hard work the team piece by piece put the fabric of the building back together. Many of the window sills were rotten, a lot of the masonry was cracked and letting in water, all of the masonry paint was peeling off and bubbling and many of the flashings and pipe work needed replacing during the project.

“Henry and WLP have done a total and long overdue refurbishment of the exterior of my house in Chelsea. Having lived here for over 40 years and having not had the exterior done in many years it had deteriorated badly to the point that much of the woodwork needed urgent attention and cracks had began appearing in the front balcony. WLP managed the whole process ahead of schedule and within budget and even picked up a few other small issues that needed attention. All their work was to the highest standard and I was so pleased with WLP that they are coming back to do the interior.”

“WRP undertook an internal upgrade on our Victorian house (focusing on sound and thermal insulation) and we were so impressed we asked them to tender for the external works. This involved masonry and woodwork repairs and redecorations, accessed with front scaffolding and rear abseiling. Again we couldn’t have been happier with the project.
