We proudly present our latest work in the very heart of West London’s Chelsea. During the last six weeks we have carried out a complete restoration of the front, rear and roofs of two buildings in Kensington’s most desirable postcode. With careful planning and organisation, the WLP team, managed by Henry, have delivered a stunning finish on two properties in desperate need of a makeover.

Façade Detailing & Masonry Repairs
The transformation at the front of the property is just as striking. A close-up view of the bay window reveals the ornate mouldings above now crisp, clean, and newly restored to highlight the character of the façade. With full scaffolding carefully set up across the building’s frontage, the team meticulously repaired damaged masonry, treated weathered detailing, and applied breathable white masonry paint to revive the home’s appearance. These elements, often lost beneath layers of peeling paint and urban grime, now stand proud once more showing how attention to detail and precision craftsmanship can bring out the best in a heritage Chelsea residence.

Rope Access Repair for Challenging Rear Elevations
The timing of the two projects was diligently managed to tackle both properties at once. At the rear of one of the buildings was a full side return extension which made erecting scaffolding very difficult; we opted to use Henry’s rope access skills to work from fixed ropes and abseiled down the back of the building to each window and painstakingly repaired and repainted them.

Masonry Survey & Heritage Joinery Repairs
One of the buildings had not had any major works carried out on it for nearly 40 years. In order to save as much of the exterior of the property as possible a full survey of the fabric of the wood work and masonry was required. With patience, planning, restoration and a lot of hard work the team piece by piece put the fabric of the building back together. Many of the window sills were rotten, a lot of the masonry was cracked and letting in water, all of the masonry paint was peeling off and bubbling and many of the flashings and pipe work needed replacing during the project.

Rear Elevation Restored: Rope Access with Precision Finish
With the scaffolding challenge at the rear overcome by Henry’s rope access expertise, the transformation was nothing short of remarkable. Once dulled by decades of dirt, failed paintwork, and visible cracks, the four-storey elevation now gleams with bright, breathable white masonry paint applied with meticulous care, window by window. Each timber sill was rebuilt and restored, damaged pipework replaced, and the original detailing of the façade brought back to life. Working from fixed ropes allowed for a close, hands-on approach, resulting in a superior finish and full coverage without the disruption of traditional scaffolding. This rope access restoration not only preserved the building’s character it delivered the kind of clean, precise result WLP is proud to offer across every renovation in West London.
