Enjoy this successful renovation project in West London’s Shepherds Bush Area. The property was purchased by our clients in 2022 and renovated by our team at WLP. Transforming it from a cramped dark house, into a light, warm and comfortable family home, by converting the ground floor into an open plan format, with a new kitchen renovation that encourages family time.

The Original Structure: The ground floor of the house was divided by a wall between the entrance hallway and the living room, the rear kitchen/dining room was then separated from the living space by a further wall and two doors. This contributed to the feeling of compactness, combined with the dark paint colours and small rooms resulting in the house feeling overly dark and unwelcoming.

Our experienced project planner worked closely with the clients to open up the ground floor. By taking down walls and restoring damaged ones, as well as rebuilding the feature coving. We repaired rising damp, fitted a brand-new kitchen and laid a light-coloured oak engineered floor. This enhanced the properties desirability, giving it a higher sale price upon its recent exchange to new owners.

A Colour Palette for Creating Space: The paint scheme selected for the house proved successful, light tones for the walls throughout helped to create a larger feel to the property, tying the different spaces together effectively. White ceiling and light colours to the woodwork also gave height to the rooms providing and a clean and fresh finish.

Recessed Spotlights: WLP fully rewired the house, giving us the opportunity to install new recessed spotlights in every room, brightening up an otherwise dark west facing house.  Our fully certified electrician was able to upgrade their older electrical system improving both the safety and longevity of the property.
